What is the db Batten 75mm
dB Batten 75 has been designed as a resilient composite batten used to enable the construction of a service void, whilst reducing impact sound transmission and providing long-lasting support for floating timber or chipboard floors.
The dB Batten 75 comprises of 65mm x 45mm x 1800mm long treated timber bonded to a 10mm resilient layer.

The team at SIS say: This product is great to use in situations requiring impact sound insulation between separating floors. It provides a minimum of 70mm void as required for Robust Detail. It is also an ideal product for a timber frame development.
Maximum centres of 450mm when using 18mm chipboard over the top and maximum centres of 600mm when using 22mm chipboard over the top.
If your room is 3.6m x 3.6mm and using 18mm chipboard over the top you would require 14no. dB 75 battens.
